STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Dak Prescott threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns and also caught a 17-yard touchdown pass to lead Mississippi State past Kentucky, 28-22 Thursday night. Prescott completed a career-high 23 of 34 passes and also rushed for 33 yards.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Texas A&M basketball player Kourtney Roberson has undergone a procedure at a hospital after experiencing a rapid heart rate during practice. The school said in a news release that Roberson underwent an outpatient procedure Thursday at Scott & White Hospital in College Station.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has suspended an officiating crew for failing to manage the clock properly in the closing seconds of regulation during the Alabama A&M-Southern game. The SWAC announced the one-game suspension on Thursday. Southern won the double-overtime game 20-17.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- NASCAR told its competitors Thursday it is considering eliminating single-car qualifying next season in an overhaul to how the field is set. Drivers from all three national series met with top NASCAR officials for almost two hours at the R&D Center in Concord to discuss several things under consideration for 2014.
