STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- The excitement of the approaching college football season was much in evidence Saturday as Mississippi State University students lined up to buy tickets for the upcoming season.
WTVA reports (http://bit.ly/1dFpuJX ) there were long lines on Student Football Ticket Day as Mississippi State students bought tickets to home games on the Starkville campus.
The tickets are for seating in the student section and were sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mississippi State's Bulldogs open the season on the road Aug. 31 against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
The team's first home game is at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 against the Alcorn State University Braves.
The Bulldogs begin Southeastern Conference play on Sept. 14 against the Auburn Tigers at Auburn.
