HOOVER, Ala. (AP) -- Mississippi State is going to need a win

Conference baseball tournament. The Bulldogs lost 5-1 on Thursday
to Kentucky, sending them into an elimination game against the
top-seeded Tigers. Mississippi State had just four hits in the
loss.

HOOVER, Ala. (AP) -- Mississippi has been eliminated from the
Southeastern Conference baseball tournament. The Rebels lost 11-2
on Thursday to top-seeded LSU. Alex Yarbrough had a pair of hits
for the Rebels, who had allowed only a pair of runs in their first
two SEC tournament games.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) -- The all-out blitzing the New Orleans Saints
unleashed during recent seasons appears is looking like a thing of
the past under new defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo
(spag-NOH'-loh). Spagnuolo says the Saints will play more zone but
won't throw away what's worked well in the past.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- NFL players union chief DeMaurice Smith says
the league isn't exactly refuting his organization's claim of
collusion. The NFL Players Association claimed this week in a
lawsuit that the 32 teams had a secret salary cap in place during
the uncapped 2010 season.
