It's not often that one can connect the NFL Draft to Ole Miss Baseball, but on Wednesday, two brothers did just that.
Colby Bortles is a freshman first baseman for the Ole Miss Rebels and happens to be the younger brother of Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles, who is expected to be to be one of the first quarterbacks taken in the 2014 NFL Draft.
The NFL hopeful told the Clarion-Ledger once he's drafted, he will use his bonus money to pay for his little brother's education, referring to Ole Miss baseball scholarships as "funky".
According to the Paper's Hugh Kellenburger, the university doesn't release how much scholarship money a player receives.
The younger Bortles has played in 26 games for the Rebels this season, tallying nine starts.
