With the longtime head coach of the Northeast football team off the sideline to focus on the classroom this season, there will be a new face leading the Trojans in 2012.
"I was already in the system," says Blackburn, "so we're going with what they already knew sticking with that."
Blackburn was the defensive coordinator under Nelson, and he was there for a rough campaign last season that saw Northeast tally just one win.
"I was very pleased with our first day, the kids had a positive attitude which is what we're looking for just get them back to normal," says Blackburn, "get their spirits up after a down year last year."
Thursday the practice schedule was set to shift from early morning starts, to mid-afternoon starts.
