The Southern Miss Baseball team defeated Eastern Illinois 6-3 in Hattiesburg Friday.
Golden Eagle pitcher Andrew Pierce gave up only three hits in 7.1 innings of work while striking out five eagles.
Daniel Wineski got the save.
Southern Miss will face Missouri State Saturday at 4:00 CT at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg.
