One of the nations top high school quarterbacks de-committed from one college football superpower and committed to another. ESPN's Derek Tyson reported Corona, CA quarterback Blake Barnett gave a verbal commitment to Alabama Wednesday.
The 6'4", 195 lb quarterback is the only signal-caller in Alabama's 2015 recruiting class. Rivals.com ranks him 55th among all high-school football players while ESPN ranks him 56th.
Barnett had previously committed to Notre Dame in November. The rising senior told Tyson he met with Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban 6 times in a three-day period and has developed a relationship with new offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.
Both ESPN and Rivals rank Alabama's 2015 recruiting class number one.
National Signing Day is Wednesday, February 4th, 2015.
