The Clarion-Ledger named MIke Crowe of the Lamar School girls soccer coach of the year. Under Crowes' direction, the Raiders have won three of the last four MAIS state championships.
Crowe told Newscenter 11 he is honored to receive the title, but he felt other coaches were more deserving. He said he loves his job and says Lamar is a great school to work for.
The six-year Raider coach said that with the state's number one ranking, Lamar will have a bullseye on their back as they move from 2A to 3A this Fall.
Though recognized for coaching girls, Crowe has coached the boys team to three of the last four state championships.
