SE Lauderdale Claims State Championship

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Jasmine Bush scored a game-high 23 points, grabbed eight rebounds and Southeast Lauderdale held on to defeat Charleston 63-59 in the girls Mississippi 3A state championship game.
It's the Lady Tigers' first state title since 2008 and fourth in school history.
Bush was named the game's Most Valuable Player. Anitra Ruffin scored 18 points -- all in the first half -- and Crystal Clay added 10.
Southeast Lauderdale (33-2) shot 58 percent from the field while Charleston (26-6) made just 36 percent of its shots.
Charleston's Mary Washington led her team with 20 points. Alexis Ross added 12 points for Charleston.
