ATLANTA (AP) -- There is an NFC South game on tap tonight as the Falcons play host to the Saints. New Orleans tops the division with a record of 8-2 while the Falcons are last with just two wins in 10 games. This is the second meeting of the clubs this season. The Saints prevailed on Sept. 8, 23-17.
The Saints' rushing game may be catching up to the passing game. Over the last two outings they rushed for 334 yards and four touchdowns. The New Orleans passing game is spread out, as last week quarterback Drew Brees (breez) connected with 11 different receivers. The Saints have 13 players with at least one reception this season.
The Falcons are just one win away from ensuring their first losing season since 2007 and first under coach Mike Smith. By the way the Falcons have not had a 100-yard rusher since Nov. 4, 2012, a span of 20 consecutive games. As always, keep an eye on Atlanta tight end Tony Gonzalez. He has caught at least one pass in 205 consecutive games, second-longest streak in NFL history behind Jerry Rice's record of 274. Gonzalez's last game without a catch was Nov. 26, 2000.
