The South Defeated the North 34-13 to win the 60th annual Bernard Blackwell Football All-Star Classic in Gulfport, MS.
The North took a 13-6 lead in the second quarter when Hattiesburg High School QB Jamel Hatton overthrew his receiver, and Starkville's Jacoby Smith scooped up the ball for a 46-yard touchdown.
The South scored 28 unanswered points.
In the third quarter, Ocean Springs wide receiver Ishmael Morrow's 22-yard catch put the South on the one yard line. Two plays later, Halzehurst running back Demetrius Cain followed his right tackle into the end zone, tying the game at 13.
The North, coached by Hernando's Anthony Jenkins, could not stop the South's running game in the second half. Jerome Keys and Thomas Taylor each scored from short-distance.
The South holds a series lead of 30-26-4. The game is named for the late Bernard Blackwell, who served as Director of the Mississippi Association of Coaches.
