The annual Wendy's High School Heisman honors luncheon was held Tuesday at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in Jackson. Each year, Wendy's recognizes the nation's most esteemed seniors for excellence in academics, athletics and community service. Three from East Mississippi were among those honored: Taylor Kaye "TK" Farrar of Wayne Academy, Olivia Mabry of the Lamar School and Regan Reiss of Newton Academy.
"I think it's a great opportunity to be a state finalist and come from a small school... small town..and it's awesome."
The Mississippi state-wide winners were Haley Hobart of Deer Creek Academy and Evan Talton of Tupelo Christian School. They will represent Mississippi when the National High School Heisman is awarded.
Governor Ronnie Musgrove was the Ceremony's guest speaker.
