Jesse Byrd is the seventh member of Brian Miley's West Lauderdale soccer team to sign with Meridian Community College. Families gathered in the school's library in Collinsville Thursday for a signing ceremony. Eagles coach Alex George said he expects Byrd to play right away next fall.

Lady knight defenders and twin sisters Kaylyn and Meagan Stewart also signed with Meridian Community College, electing to play for Mike Smith and the lady eagles

"We've always played together. She used to be a goalie, then she came to the dark side to be on defense," says Kaylyn. "We played defense since we were in 8th grade together... starting together."

"It's exciting because you know someone that's gonna be on your team," says Meagan. "You know she's gonna be in the same position as you."

This means coach George will have two sets of twins when the lady eagles take the field next Fall. Twins Merrick and Miller Watkins will be sophomores for the eagles.

Eight Members of Brian Miley's West Lauderdale boys have signed with junior colleges in the last two weeks. Keeper Cody Anderson signed with Jones County Junior College last week.
