THE 32-WIN SEASON WAS ALSO HIGHLIGHTED BY A TOP 20 NATIONAL RANKING UNDER SEVENTH YEAR HEAD COACH NEAL HOLLIMAN. LEADING THE WAY FOR THE WARRIORS WAS TIM ANDERSON WHO HAD A BANNER SEASON. ANDERSON LED THE NATION IN BATTING WITH A .495 AVERAGED AND FINISHED SECOND IN STOLEN BASES AND FIRST IN RUNS SCORED. HE RECEIVED ALL-REGION 23 AND ALL-STATE HONORS FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR AND WAS NAMED A FIRST TEAM NJCAA ALL-AMERICAN. ANDERSON WAS SELECTED AS THE 17TH OVERALL PLAYER IN THE SPRING DRAFT. HE HAD COMMITTED TO UAB BUT OPTED TO SIGN A TWO-MILLION-DOLLAR CONTRACT WITH THE WHITESOX.
