College of Woodland Hills (CA) defensive tackle Marquel Combs withdrew his verbal commitment from Ole Miss Thursday because he did not want to stay at his current school for the 2013 spring semester.

Combs, who is ranked a four star defensive tackle and number two overall Juco prospect by, said he wants to graduate with his associate degree in December and enroll at a division I school the following semester.

The SEC rules say a prospect must spend his last three consecutive semesters at the school from which he will earn his associate degree. The second rule is that correspondence, Internet, or any non-traditional courses used to fulfill his English, Math, and/or Science requirements must be completed at the two-year school at which he got his associate degree or equivalent from. Combs said attending Ole Miss would require him to take even more classes, preventing him from graduating from Ole Miss in December.

Combs will look to enroll in schools from the Big 12, Pac 12 and Big Ten this spring, but said if he decides to stay at the California junior college for the Spring, he will go to Ole Miss.
