Southern Miss pushed Memphis to two overtimes on Saturday, but it wasn't enough to earn a invite the NCAA tournament.
The Golden Eagles finished 25-9, but didn't pull off enough signature wins to impress the votes.
Not surprsingly, Donnie Tyndall and his bunch were awarded a number one seed in the NIT. USM will host a first round tournament game against Charleston Southern on Wednesday at 8:15 pm.
