ESPN college football reporter Joe Schad says Mississippi State sophomore Will Redmond paid back $2,660 in benefits.
It was originally reported that Redmond would be eligable to play right away in 2013.
Matthew Stephens of the Columbus Dispatch reports the NCAA Student Athlete Reinstatement Process made the decision; not the Committee of Infractions.
Schad reports that the Memphis native will miss the first five games in 2013. That slate include, Oklahoma State, Alcorn State, Auburn, Troy and LSU.
