LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Left-handed pitcher Jacob Neil has singed a national letter of intent to play baseball at the University of West Alabama.
Neil (5-11, 195) comes to UWA from Delgado (La.) Community College where he pitched 53.2 innings over two seasons, posting a 6-2 record with a 4.53 earned run average. He struck out 27 and walked 16 in 19 appearances, eight starts.
As a sophomore, Neil helped lead Delgado to a 43-13 record and a trip to the 2014 Junior College World Series.
From Chavin, La., Neil played his prep baseball at Covenant Christian High School where he was a four-year letter winner and two-time all-state selection. He earned state most valuable player honors in 2011.
