Following an 8-4 season and a berth in the NCAA Division II Football Championships, the University of West Alabama announces a contract extension for UWA head coach Will Hall.
“We are excited that Will Hall will continue to be the head football coach at the University of West Alabama. Coach Hall and his staff guided the Tigers to an outstanding season in 2011 and we look forward to that same type of success in the years to come,” said UWA Director of Athletics Stan Williamson. “As a parent, the finest compliment I could give any coach is that I would want my son to be under Coach Hall's leadership. Coach Hall is that type person and we are proud for him to lead UWA Football.”
The extension moves Hall's contract through the 2014 football season.
“I would like to thank Stan and Dr. Holland for making this commitment to me and our staff,” said Hall. “We've been building this program for the last couple of years. West Alabama is here to stay and we are never going to go away. We are going to keep improving and bring a GSC title back to Livingston.”
In his first season at the helm of the program, Hall was named Gulf South Conference Co-Coach of the Year and guided 14 players to conference honors, including the GSC's Defensive Player of the Year in Deon Lacey and the Offensive Freshman of the Year, Kyle Caldwell.
