A former college soccer player tried to kick her way into the NFL Sunday.
Lauren Silberman became the first woman to try out for the league when she signed up for the New York/New Jersey regional scouting combine.
The 28-year-old Silberman made two poor kickoff attempts and aggravated a quadricep injury she says she suffered in training during the week leading up to the tryout.
The MIT graduate played club-level soccer at the Uiversity of Wisconsin, though she has no experience playing football.
