Saturday in Meridian hundreds of hopeful fishermen gathered around the lake at Q.V. Sykes Park to try and reel in a big one.

The annual youth fishing rodeo lasted from 7:30 to 11 AM at the park, and kids caught everything from catfish to brim, having a great time along the way.

The rodeo attracts hundreds of kids every year and is one of many youth fishing rodeos across the state every year.
