John is a 1968 graduate of Rust College in Holly Springs, Miss., and a graduate of the University of Iowa with an advanced degree in 1972. He came to WTOK in January 1985 as News Director and 10 p.m. News Anchor.
When he is not busy working on news and station related activities, he is active in his community. He is active in his church and is District Lay Leader for the Meridian District of the United Methodist Church.
He is very active with youth both on and off the air. He has done many Live "Town Meetings" on TV dealing with youth issues.
John is an avid sports fan, loves to play basketball, softball and the San Francisco 49ers.
John is married with two children, and his wife is an educator. A native of Hattiesburg, John has lived most of his life in the state of Mississippi.
