Born in Fallon, Nevada, Jessica Dealy has grown up in a variety of locations with her military family and through her own travels. She has experienced the high deserts of the Great Basin, the coastal Atlantic climes of Virginia and Florida, plus the beauty of Alabama’s gulf coast and Mississippi’s northeast farmlands. Jessica is now thrilled to be a member of the WTOK family and is excited about becoming a part of the Queen City community.


A 2009 graduate of Mississippi State University with a B.S. in the Geosciences – Meteorology, Jessica has logged 2,000+ miles with MSU’s storm chasing team which taught her the ends and outs of severe storm morphology, location, and nowcast analysis techniques that she plans to use in order to provide WTOK viewers with the most accurate severe weather coverage available.


Jessica is very proud to be a Mississippi State Alumni and was a member of MSU’s 2009 Collegiate Weather Forecasting team. The 2009 team won first in the Nation beating out Universities such as MIT. Jessica was the Undergraduate Champion overall in the Nation (thanks to the fantastic MSU professors).


From 2001 – 2004, Jessica lived on Alabama’s gulf coast, working summers directly on the beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama, constantly observing and dealing with the effects of coastal weather, including several hurricanes. These times generated in her a deep respect for the impacts of weather. As a professional meteorologist, she is especially fascinated with studying hurricanes and severe weather. Jessica plans to continue graduate studies at Mississippi State, concentrating on hurricane forecasting and hurricane energy modeling.
