Name: Trent Hughes
Title: Chief Meteorologist
Email Address: trent.hughes@wtok.com

A native of Meridian, Trent Hughes is very excited to be back in the Queen City as a member of the WTOK family. He is a 2000 graduate of Clarkdale Attendance Center, and a 2002 graduate of Meridian Community College. Trent made the move from Meridian to Starkville to pursue his dream of becoming a meteorologist. He is a 2005 Cum Laude graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology and a minor in communications.

Trent would spend two years as the Weekend Meteorologist at KALB-TV in Alexandria, Louisiana gaining valuable experience and knowledge with Meteorologists Tom Konvicka and Nick Mikulas during hurricanes with Katrina and Rita, and severe weather outbreaks.

Trent is looking forward to becoming actively involved in the community and keeping your family safe and informed during severe weather. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society, and is working toward his AMS seal of approval.

In his spare time, Trent enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica who is from Starkville, and also hanging out with his family and friends. He also enjoys exercising and throwing the baseball around with his brother, Todd, who is a student Clarkdale. When not forecasting, you can find Trent cheering on his Mississippi State Bulldogs no matter which sport they are playing. Trent is the son of Mike and Glenda Hughes.
