For the second time within less than two weeks, one Meridian business is the victim of an armed robbery. As of midday Wednesday the search was continuing for the suspect.
The owners of the 19th Street Liquor Store say they are exploring their options after the most recent armed robbery. It happened around 9 Tuesday night. According to store officials, when the suspect entered the building his face was covered and he was armed with a gun. He proceeded to leave with money that he took from the cash register.
The worker on duty at the time is still shaken by what happened.
Store officials say they have already taken precautions to deter these type crimes. For example, burglar bars cover the front door. The owners say they are now exploring even more options to keep their employees safe and their business open.
The 19th Street Liquor Store was first robbed on Friday, July 5. The suspect in the most recent armed robbery is described as a black male, who at the time was wearing a white cap and red bandanna.
