A blood drive will be held Saturday, Mar. 23, in Quitman for a little girl who's battling a life-threatening disease.
Eden Smith is battling childhood Hodgkin's lymphoma. When the disease was discovered, the 10-year-old was in stage two.
Since then, Eden has undergone chemotherapy at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
United Blood Services is co-sponsoring a unique drive to assist Eden.
"For every unit of blood that we get for Eden, they (United Blood Services) will send fifteen dollars to St. Jude's in Eden's name put aside to be used for Eden for whatever she needs," says Dian Mayo, who is a friend of the family.
The blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the central office for the Quitman Public School District.
