An arrest has been made in a check scam in Kemper County. Christopher Boutwell is charged with two counts of felony false pretense. Sheriff James Moore says the case involves money that Boutwell earned for work that was done at the coal plant site. He says the 23-year-old used that money in an elaborate check scheme to illegally gain almost $4,000. Bond for Boutwell has been set at $50,000. At last check he was still being held in the Kemper County jail.
