Jennings Out of Jail

Updated: Fri 3:59 PM, Nov 02, 2012

Meridian civil rights activist, Randle Jennings, is out of jail today. He was released from the Lauderdale County jail around 3 in the afternoon Thursday. Jennings was taken into custody Monday for contempt of court in Lauderdale County. The arrest was for failure to produce financial records requested by the city of Meridian. Jennings, who is the Meridian/Lauderdale County NAACP's education chairman, is now being sued by the city of Meridian. The lawsuit is to recover municipal funds that were provided to Jennings in 2006 for an after school youth program that was never established. Jennings is next set to appear in Lauderdale County Court at 9:30 AM on Thursday, November 8th.
