"Be Born in Me...Christmas Through the Eyes of Mary"

Dec 3, 2014 6:00pm

Spring Hill UMC 6614 Zero Rd, Meridian, MS 39301
Nearly every parent in the world will tell you that they would be willing to sacrifice anything, even her life, for the sake of her children. Mary, the mother of Jesus, was certainly no different. Her sacrifices began the moment she said to God, "Be Born in Me." The difference is that Mary went on to discover that her Child was willing to sacrifice His life for her - and not just for her safety or her provision or her freedom, but for her eternal salvation.

Join us for this musical Christmas drama, featuring Lee Ann Williamson playing a middle-aged Mary, and Lori Smith playing her Gentile friend, Tabitha. Imagine with us how Mary might have looked back and seen the baby that she birthed become the Savior of the world.

Journey to Bethlehem - Life of Jesus

Dec 13, 2014 - Dec 14, 2014 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Shiloh United Methodist Church 2394 Shiloh Road Pelahatchie, MS 39145

Please join us for a Journey to Bethlehem The Life of Jesus. This is a drive-through event so you can stay warm and cozy in the convenience of your vehicle. The event will be held on December 13 or 14, 2014 (6:00 PM 8:30 PM).

We will transform our campus into the Streets of Bethlehem so that visitors can experience the sights and sounds as they were thousands of years ago to the time of Jesus birth.

Leave the holiday to do lists behind -- travel back in time and visualize yourself in the midst of the scenes. Open your heart to feeling what young Mary and Joseph felt that lonely night or the inn keepers feelings as he made his decisions. It might be the shepherds that harness your thoughts or the kings as they joyously travel to celebrate the Saviors birth.

You will see Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem. You will witness the shepherds keeping watch over their flock as an angel of the Lord appeared to them. You will pass the Magi and their caravans following the star to the place where the child had been born. There will be a great host of angels praising God. Roman Soldiers will summon you to the city gates where you will be greeted by the Census Takers. You will witness carpenters and blacksmiths at work, along with pottery makers, basket weavers, bakers, and others working at their trade.

Your eyes will focus in on the main attraction -- the Newborn Baby Jesus! As you leave Bethlehem, you will have the opportunity to cast your eyes upon the sacrifice that Jesus made in order that we might ALL have eternal salvation.

Visit our website for more information and directions at www.shilohunitedmethodist.org. You may also contact church personnel at 601-854-8158 or swadsworth325@hotmail.com.
