Komen Central Mississippi Steel Magnolias is fighting to save lives and end breast cancer forever in our 59-county service area. The Affiliate was established in 1999 as an all-volunteer organization with the mission of creating a world without breast cancer. We have invested over $2.85 million in community breast health programs in 59 counties throughout the state. 75 percent of the net income raised from Komen events stays in Mississippi to fund breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects to uninsured and under-insured men and women. A minimum of 25 percent of net income from events supports the Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs, which fund groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific conferences around the world.
