59Twenty Music Festival Line Up Announced

About the 59/Twenty Music Festival: 59/Twenty was started in 2011 by the Young Professionals of Meridian as a fundraiser to support the Care Lodge, a local domestic violence shelter serving a nine county area in East Mississippi. The next event will be held April 13, 2013 and will feature 4 bands on one stage from 2pm-11pm, as well as local artists performing on a side stage. Tickets can be purchased online at

About the bands:

There are few artists whose names are synonymous with one instrument and how it's played in service to an entire genre.
Utter the phrase "young blues guitarist" within earshot of anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the modern musical vanguard and the first name they are most likely to respond with will be Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Still barely in his 30s, the Louisiana born axeman and songsmith has been selling millions of albums, throwing singles into the Top 10, shining a light on the rich blues of the past and forging ahead with his own modern twist on a classic sound he has embodied since his teens. He met Stevie Ray Vaughan at 7, shared the stage with New Orleans legend Bryan Lee at13. As an adult, he continues to create genre-defining blues-infused rock n' roll.

NOAH HUNT – Lead Vocals

With musical influences as diverse as The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Maroon 5 and John Mayer, Davidson is a triple-threat: guitarist, vocalist and songwriter…performing rock, blues and pop with equal command. Matthew released his debut EP “Step Up” in 2012, produced by legendary bassist Joe Osborn. "Matthew has been making some major waves in the music world, and stunning the ears of multiple guitar enthusiasts and organizations across the country", reports Guitar International.
Matthew was the 2011 winner of the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation New Generation Award. “His style was advanced for his age,” said Steven Johnson, Robert’s grandson and vice president of the Robert Johnson Blues Foundation. “It was crisp; it was professional. His style with that electric guitar was amazing. I know Matthew will be a great ambassador for the Foundation”.

HanaLena, formerly Nash Street, is led by the sister duo Hannah and Caroline Melby. Currently based in Nashville, TN, their roots reach all the way back to the state of Mississippi where they grew up playing old-time, folk and bluegrass music. In 1996, they formed the band as Nash Street, named after the street they grew up on in Starkville, MS. Since then, Hannah and Caroline have been traveling across the country performing and developing their unique blend of bluegrass, country, pop-acoustic, and blues. The band was declared the “Best New Act in Country Music” at the 2008 Colgate Country Showdown in the Ryman Auditorium.
