EC Players to Present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors is the storyline for the 2013 spring musical scheduled April 10-13, 2013, at East Central Community College in Decatur.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which features lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, will be presented by the ECCC Players in the Vickers Fine Arts Center. A matinee performance is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 10. Evening performances begin at 7 p.m. April 11-13 (Thursday – Saturday).

The cast includes approximately 30 EC students and members of the Hickory Baptist Church Children’s Choir.

The musical depicts the story of Joseph – his father’s (Jacob) favorite son – who is blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken into Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. Set to an engaging abundance of musical styles, this Old Testament tale emerges as both timely and timeless.

Cast members, their hometowns and respective roles in the production include Sam Lovorn (as Joseph), Savannah Stuart-Dahl (Mrs. Potiphar), Charles Taylor (Levi), Drew Thames (Naphtali) Will Stokes (Zebulon) and Chandler Smith (Simeon), all of Philadelphia; Hunter Brooks (Jacob) and Rob Parker (Ruben), both of Puckett; Conor Bell (Potiphar) and Aaliyah Cook (Wife), both of Carthage; Colton Hurst (Pharaoh), Tadarian “Bo” Foster (Judah) and Delaney Kilgore (Gad), all of Hickory; Andrea McSwain (wife), Decatur; Georgia Doner (Butler) and Tarra Gibson (Wife), both of Bailey; Chelsey Smith (Baker), Brandon; Matt Graham (Asher), Meridian; Ian Lanthrip (Benjamin), Sebastopol; Sharley Hardin (Wife), Forest; Lizabeth Benton (Wife), Preston; Holli Nutt (Wife), Morton; and Bristol Buffington (Wife), El Paso, Texas.
