The fall months not only bring cooler weather, but also our secondary severe weather season.

Wednesday has been designated fall Severe Weather Awareness Day in Mississippi.

The National Weather Service will conduct a practice tornado warning drill Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.

The purpose for this day is to call attention to the secondary peak severe weather season that begins in the late fall.

November historically has been a very active month for severe weather and tornadoes in Mississippi.
