A heavy snow warning and a winter storm warning have been issued for portions of north Mississippi .

The National Weather Service had north Mississippi under the warning Friday and into Saturday morning.

The storm was expected to bring rain during the morning Friday which would turn into snow later.

The storm was expected to bring 3 to 5 inches of snow to areas of north Mississippi from Yazoo City to the Tennessee line.
