A number of homes from York to Livingston to Gainesville experienced some type of structural or yard damage due to a Friday storm. The biggest problem was downed trees, which damaged everything from cars to curb sides.
One of the hardest hit areas was the Greenville subdivision in Livingston. Several trees fell on a house as the homeowner slept.
"He was pretty shaken, quite upset. He really was. He was quite upset," said neighbor Tommy Fuller.
Although the damage is extensive, emergency management officials say it is not thought to have been caused by a tornado.
"Right now primarily with downed trees with 40 to 50 mile winds is primarily an indication of straight line winds," said emergency management director Margaret Bishop.
Bishop said a crew from the National Weather Service is expected to tour the site and make a final determination of whether the damage was caused by a tornado or just heavy winds.
Fuller said he and his neighbor also experienced damage during Hurricane Katrina.
