Following the storms of April 4, Jackson ABC affiliate WAPT-TV says those who suffered damage from the storms have received $250,000 in federal aid that has gone toward rental assistance and other needs.

WAPT also says that 600 people have applied for FEMA aid since President Bush declared a disaster in Hinds County in May. That declaration brought about a disaster assistance center in Jackson.

Storm victims can apply for aid until June 28.
