The U.S. Geological Survey says a 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines just after 4:30 local time Wednesday afternoon.
The earthquake was centered 45 miles south of Cotabato, Mindanao in the Philippines and was 27 miles deep.
Weak to moderate earthquakes are common in the region.
No reports of damage or injuries have been received.
