NORCO, La. (AP) -- Four people were injured Tuesday night as a lightning bolt struck a crane at the Motiva refinery in St. Charles Parish.
Shell spokeswoman Lilly Galland says the four people injured are contractors who were working at the facility today when the lightning struck around them. The contractors, who are employed by Turner Industries, were doing construction at the refinery.
Turner Industries project manager Rodney Landry says the contractors were working on a piece of equipment that was connected to the crane. All were taken to an area hospital for treatment. Three were released; one is still being held for observation.
