Continued steady rain has not so far caused additional problems for an area of Choctaw County, just south of Butler, plagued by heavy rainfall in March 2009.

But officials say work has still not been done to fix the problem.

"Right now we're still using one lane. We don't feel like we're going to have to close the road. It's still holding up well and we plan to do the construction just as soon as we can but the detour road is in place," says District 4 commissioner, Henry Lovette.

Choctaw County officials say money from a federal grant will be used to repair Ararat Road.

At this time, there's no definite time for when the funding will become available.
