A Tornado Watch has been issued until 4 pm for much of northern Mississippi including the following counties in the WTOK viewing area: Neshoba, Noxubee, Winston, and Leake.
The following cities and towns are included: Philadelphia, Macon, Louisville, and Carthage.
Strong to severe thunderstorms moving into northwestern and west central Mississippi will continue moving toward parts of the WTOK viewing area. The potential exists for some of these storms to produce damaging winds in excess of 60 mph as well as isolated tornadoes, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall.
People in the watch area should be prepared to seek shelter if warnings are issued.
Stay with WTOK.com, Newscenter 11, and NOAA Weather Radio for the latest on severe weather conditions.
