A severe weather outbreak will be possible Friday night and Saturday in Mississippi, as a major system moves east across the lower Mississippi River Valley.
The National Weather Service said severe thunderstorms are expected to develop initially over southeast Arkansas and northeast Louisiana Friday evening and then increase after midnight as they move into western Mississippi.
At least two inches of rainfall will be possible by sunrise Saturday to the northwest of the Natchez Trace Parkway.
