The Meridian Fire Department has again issued a burn ban due to dry and windy weather conditions. It's asking the public, even those who already have burn permits, to avoid all burning.
Fire Chief Jeff Homan said no permits will be issued until conditions improve.
Burn permits that have already been issued are still valid, but Homan said the fire department requests all permit holders not burn. He said notice would be published when the ban is lifted.
Homan say any reports of burning of any kind during this time will result in the fire being extinguished by the fire department.
