East Mississippi got some much needed rain this weekend. It rained in various areas, even if not for long.
Now Lauderdale County fire coordinator Clarence Butler says it's safe enough to burn outdoors.
Butler Monday recommended that supervisors allow the county-wide burn ban to expire.
The south has been extremely dry for the last few months, but Butler says the rain hopefully eased the situation for now.
Butler still asks the public to exercise extreme caution when burning.
