State of Emergency to Remain

Lauderdale County supervisors plan to renew the county's state of emergency relating to Hurricane Katrina at its meeting on Monday.

During a work session Thursday, emergency management director David Sharp said he will ask that it be kept in place.

Lauderdale County is the only one in the state to still have its Katrina state of emergency in place.

Lauderdale is still the only county in MS to still have this? What about the other counties that were affected ALOT worse? I agree with the comment below, "Does anyone know for sure if the work is legit?

Question. Has anyone been out to these places where work is beening done to verify that it is Hurricane Katrina related. Come on it's been 2 yrs since the storm. These tax dollars could be spent on something else and yes this is tax dollars paying for this service.
