You just thought it was hot last week. Forecasters say the year's hottest weather yet is on its way to the south.
Temperatures could reach the danger zone by the end of the week.
The National Weather Service said temperatures will be in the upper 90s all week with only a 20 percent chance of scattered storms in most areas.
A heat advisory is in effect, due to heat index readings that could reach 105 to 110 degrees.
With a drought that has damaged crops and dried up ponds and lawns, the blast of hot air will only make conditions seem that much worse for both people and plants.
