Friday 1/18 Forecast Discussion

Posted: Fri 4:18 PM, Jan 18, 2013

We picked up exactly one inch of snow at Key Field yesterday. Higher snow totals were around Philadelphia where a heavier band of snow set up and they saw up to 3 inches in some places. Jackson actually set a record snowfall for yesterday with 1.7 inches! After a chilly start this morning, we warmed up quite nicely to the mid 50s under full sunshine...something we haven't seen all week. The even better news is that the sun is here to stay, as we should be under either full sunshine, or mostly sunny skies for each of the next 7 days. Our temperatures will moderate this weekend with highs topping out around 60 and lows around 30, but then a dry cold front looks like it pass though the beginning of next week and bring with it a reinforcing shot of cold air. Monday and Tuesday look to be the coldest days next week, with mornings starting out in the low to mid 20s, and highs struggling to get out of the upper 40s and lower 50s. After that, temperatures return to where they should be for this time of year, with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s. Enjoy the really nice weather for the next week!
