Friday Evening Weather Discussion

High pressure continues its eastward migration as a mid-level low pressure system moves into the central Rocky Mountains this evening. That low pressure will exit the Rockies tomorrow and initiate surface low pressure development in the Plains. That low pressure will push a warm front northward through Oklahoma and Kansas, which will be the focus for Saturday severe weather. A cold front will pivot around the low pressure center and move through our area early Monday morning. While it will bring some rain for at least a few of us, I do not expect the severe weather for us that is expected in the Plains from this system. High pressure will build into our area during the day Monday, bringing a brief break from wet weather that will persist through Tuesday. On Wednesday another cold front, which will have a little more chill behind it, will bring another round of rain. The highest rain chance looks to be overnight Wednesday and into the early morning hours of Thursday. Clearing and cooling will begin on Thursday as high pressure builds southeastward from the Northern Plains.
