Friday, February 22 Forecast Discussion

Rain showers and storms have been moving in from the south through the afternoon and will be with us through the overnight and into Saturday morning. These storms will not possess the same severe threat that existed last night, but these storms could reach severe criteria with winds up to 60mph and some hail.

The rain will come to an end Saturday morning and we will slowly break the clouds up through the afternoon hours tomorrow. We will end up partly cloudy on Sunday before our next system arrives early on Monday. This one looks to be mostly a rain event and will exit before we wake up Tuesday.

Outside of a small chance at rain on Wednesday, next week looks to be dry, but temperatures will fall through the week. Colder air will make a return and we will go from near 70 on Sunday to around 50 by next Friday.

Our area rivers will need to be watched closely for some flooding potential. A few rivers are already near or above flood stage, and the amount of rain tonight will determine how many more rivers could seep out of their banks.
