Clouds have been increasing today ahead of a cold front that is working through the panhandle of Texas this afternoon. Moisture is returning from the Gulf of Mexico and will lead to showers and perhaps even a thunderstorm for our Tuesday.
Rain will begin to arrive tomorrow morning (outside of a stray shower possible south of I-20 tonight) and be with us into our Wednesday. Rain could be heavy at times with a total of near an inch of rain by the end of Wednesday, which is something we do not need at the moment. While a flooding threat looks minimal, a flash flood threat will exist for areas that are very saturated as we continue to drain the water from this weekend.
Rain exits Wednesday afternoon and drier air will filter in for the back part of the week. Clouds will clear with dry conditions through Sunday, making it a much better Football Friday and great weather for Meridian's Homecoming.
Rain will return on Monday as our next cold front arrives and will bring some rain back to the area.
