When it rains it pours and that's exactly what it did this weekend.
Some in our area saw as much as four inches of rain locally. Radar estimates were higher than that. In some areas, it's estimated that five to six inches fell. Some isolated flash flooding did cause some problems this weekend.
We've seen everything from Football Friday soakings to car accidents. Portions of the 22nd Avenue Bridge were closed due to an accident where a car flipped on its side. Fortunately, no one was hurt in this accident.
Rain wasn't the only weather making headlines as we had an EF-1 tornado touchdown in portions Rankin and Smith counties damaging a couple of chicken houses. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
